Hello. Today, I'd like to tell you about this book in the Oxford Bookworms Factfiles series, called California. It's divided into 9 chapters, but I'd like to talk to you about two of them:
Chapter 2: The gold rush; and chapter 6: Los Angeles.
Chapter 2 is about the middle of the 19th century, The gold rush in America. James Wilson saw something bright and yellow in a river in 1848. It was the start of the gold rush. By 1852, there were more than 100,000 prospectors in California. But by the middle of the 1850s, it was getting more and more difficult to find gold.
Chapter 6 is about famous places in California and California's outline. There are many famous places. For example, Olvera street, Hollywood, Santa Monica and Venica beach, and so on.
The other chapters are all interesting, so please check out this book if you get the chance. Thank you.
